Ecurie AIX
We are Ecurie Aix, the Formula Student team of RWTH Aachen University and one of the longest-standing teams in Germany, founded in 1999. Our name combines “Ecurie” – the French word for racing team, inspired by the historic Ecurie Francorchamps – with “Aix,” the French name for Aachen (Aix-la-Chapelle). We chose this name not only to reflect our racing heritage but also because we are proud to live so close to the Dreiländereck, the region where Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands meet, and we want to carry that international connection in our identity. As part of Formula Student, the world’s largest international engineering design competition with more than 800 university teams worldwide, we design and build a new race car every year. The competition consists of a wide range of disciplines. On the one hand, teams prove their vehicles in dynamic events, both in manual and in autonomous categories, where aspects such as acceleration, handling, endurance, and system integration are tested on track. On the other hand, static disciplines evaluate business concepts, cost efficiency, and design processes. This combination ensures that Formula Student is not only about building fast cars, but also about developing efficient, innovative, and economically viable solutions. Over the years, we have continuously evolved in line with new technologies and competition formats. We began with combustion-powered vehicles in 2002, entered the electric category in 2010, and by 2014 had fully transitioned to electric propulsion. Since 2017, we have also been working in the field of autonomous driving. For the last four years, we have been developing a merge-car, a vehicle that unites both electric and autonomous capabilities in one platform, reflecting our ambition to integrate different future-driven technologies in a holistic way. Our team is organized as a registered non-profit association. Its strength lies in the diversity of our members. We come from a wide range of academic backgrounds, including mechanical and electrical engineering, computer science, business studies, social sciences, and creative disciplines. Each perspective plays an equally important role in developing the project as a whole – from designing and building the car, to planning business strategies, engaging with partners, and managing communications. Through partnerships with companies and institutes, our project is made possible in the first place. We value the support and trust of a strong network of partners who contribute expertise, resources, and encouragement. These partnerships are characterized by mutual appreciation, collaboration, and exchange, allowing us to grow both as a team and as individuals. Together with our partners, we aim to push the boundaries of student engineering

Vaionic Technologies
Vaionic Technologies GmbH is a Berlin-based startup specializing in the design and development of E-Drive systems based on a unique axial flux motor technology with unmatched efficiency and power. The area of application is unlimited - from stationary to mobile, from land to air mobility. What makes our electric drive technology stand out from the crowd is the ironless stator design of the motor. This brings numerous advantages like the lightweight design, reduced stator losses and lower CO2 footprint due to the absence of electrical steel, and recyclability. The design offers great benefits for any application, where size, weight, efficiency and costs are key concerns. We are currently focused on E-Mobility, although our vision goes beyond that. We have built a dedicated team working at Vaionic, 80% of which have a technical background. This allows us to keep innovating and bring new solutions to the market.
